Instead of the shy,
innocent look she had started out with
Anita now adopted the style of a bad
girl. The change
was powerful and proved a great
sucess. Michael described
Anita as one hell of a character behind a
great voice and
beautiful eyes.
Eddie and Michael
collaborated closely in creating the
new artist and matching songs with the
image. The image
developed the songs and the songs projected
the image .
Anita was always given a choice but she was
easy-going and
usually went along with their ideas.They
found her eager
to please and very cooperative. She
even had her teeth
straightened and is said to have undergone
plastic surgery
for her nose.
Eddie and Michael
continued to make alterations to her image
from albums to album so that at every
opportunity Anita had a
fresh look and her excitement for the
audience did not fade.
The new Anita made her
first appearance in the Tokyo
Music Festival. The release of her
singles ,Doctor Flumb
and Mystery of love was very sucessful with the records
selling extremely well. This led to the
release of the albums
Debt of love in1982.Again the public response was
good. This was followed by more
albums:Mystery of love
(1983)Dancing on Stage(1984) and
Anita Mui(1985)
Anita is not a prolific singer,however.
Bad Girl was released in
1986,and proved to be another
turning point in Anita's career. The
song Alone on the Road
expressed the philosophy that brought Anita
through so
many difficulties of life to reach stardom,
international
fame and wealth.
